13Muses...a review

Most of us, as artists are familiar with Zeus' daughters who make up the mythological 9 muses.

A few of us are fortunate enough to have been completely enamored by the original film #13muses, a film by Thom Bess. Filmed by Adonis Canty. This thought-provoking, visual masterpiece gives the viewer a meaningful glimpse into the magic of the muses. The term model is used when a body is placed in our view and we either draw, sculpt, photograph or even just observe. But a muse... is something a little more special. Its an essence of femininity and power that is exquisitely captured in this film.

It all began at stillLife Sessions, the inspiration as well as the feminine energy, and it has all wondrously culminated in this captivating film.

I wasnt sure what to expect when I first got knowledge of the premiere but I must say, it exceeded all expectations. The honesty and transparency of the women and the way their unique energy was beautifully captured was absolutely breathtaking. Not only did the film help me to empathize and understand the role of the muse in art...it motivated me to look within, at my own divine feminine and how it can be used to fuel inspiration in my fellow artists.
